The city of Workum\/Warkum is one of the youngest Frisian eleven cities. The town, like most towns in Friesland, originated along the water. To be precise, along the quays of the Wymerts and the Dolte. Beautifully beautiful houses were built here, some of which have been preserved. Because the houses were built along the water, the old center of Workum is still elongated. Where the Wymerts once was, you will now find the main shopping streets: It Noard and It S\u00fad.<\/p>

Like the other cities in this part of Friesland, Workum enjoyed a lot of prosperity through seafaring and fishing. The town is not located directly on the former Zuiderzee, but the connection to the sea was good thanks to the it Soal waterway. In addition, Workum had a good connection with the Frisian lakes, which also contributed to the prosperity of the city.<\/p>

The Zuiderzee has long since changed into the IJsselmeer and the city is no longer just about shipping. Yet you can still see things throughout the city that recall that past. You can spend the night in Workum at Camping Suders\u00e9<\/a> . Camping Suders\u00e9 is centrally located between the old center of Workum and the IJsselmeer. The ideal base to visit the town or for a day of nothing. The Workumer beach is the ideal place for sunbathing, swimming, surfing, sailing and\/or fishing. You can also explore the Frisian landscape beautifully from the campsite by bicycle, boat or canoe.<\/p>

The campsite offers beautiful and paved camper pitches in Workum, good sanitary facilities, WiFi, bread service, fresh eggs from our own chickens, seasonal vegetables and flowers from our own land. Here you will soon feel at home in peace and space!<\/p>

Please note: In the low season there is no one at the reception. There is, however, a telephone number of the administrator, who you can call to check in further. The stamp is also at the reception.<\/p>
