Maarten van der Weijden started his own foundation, the Maarten van der Weijden Foundation, in July 2017. With this foundation, he hopes to improve the lives of former, current and future cancer patients.

The money the foundation raises is used for scientific cancer research and cancer-related projects, so that people with cancer receive the right treatment. After all, with the right treatment, the chances of recovery are much greater.

The Maarten van der Weijden Foundation is of course inextricably linked to the Elfstedentocht, after Maarten swam the trip. You don’t have to imitate that achievement, but you can also contribute to the foundation through this way. We ourselves donate a contribution to the foundation with every full stamp card.
