Fries Museum in Leeuwarden
Have you always wanted to know more about the Middle Ages in the North, about society in between 1067 – 1567? Then you can visit an exhibition at Het Fries Museum in Leeuwarden called “Freedom, Feuds, Purgatory. You can see this exhibition from September 10, 2022 through May 7, 2023.

House of Eysinga in Leeuwarden
If you feel like another activity in Leeuwarden, you can visit the House Van Eysinga. This is a mansion from the eighteenth century, built by men of distinction. Here you will become acquainted with the Van Eysinga family. Walk through the different rooms and take a step back in time during this visit.

Family exhibition Expedition Strong Yerke in Sneek
In Sneek you can visit Family Exhibition Expedition Strong Yerke at the Scheepsvaart Museum until March 5. This is an exhibition for young & old. This exhibition shows the story of 7 friends who crossed the ocean on a raft. There are also activities to do, you will learn to distinguish different types of plastic, how plastic recycling works and raft building. There is also a laboratory where you can discover the problem of microplastics and oil pollution and much more!

What to do in IJlst
Wood burning/ pyrography workshop in IJlst
Have you arrived in IJlst by campervan and feel like being in a creative mood? Then the wood burning/pyrography workshop is an idea! During the workshop you will learn how to make a drinks board by burning something on it. This workshop will be held on Saturday, March 25. What to do in Sloten
Museum Sloten in Sloten
Museum Sloten you can visit in small Eleven-city Sloten. The museum is located in what used to be the town hall. For its historic location alone, the town hall was built in 1759-1761, it is worth a visit. In the museum you can find all sorts of things about the town’s history. There are books to peruse, you can also take a look in the council chamber and there is a “magic attic” in the museum. So plenty to see!

Wheat Mill The Kaai
In Sloten you can find corn mill De Kaai. This mill has been grinding corn into flour since 1775 and is still grinding corn when there is enough wind. You can buy the flour that is ground to enjoy at home when you return from driving the Camperelfstedentocht with, for example, a homemade bread and remember the stop in Sloten.

‘Toankamer ‘t Pohnthús’ in Stavoren
In Stavoren you can visit “Toankamer ‘t Pohntús. In this museum you can learn all kinds of things about the history of Stavoren. The Battle of Stavoren, the Hanseatic past, as well as World War II and industry. There are exhibits to see and much more. Skating museum in Hindeloopen
Whoever thinks of the Elfsteden, thinks of ice skating. In Hindeloopen you can visit the first skating museum. In this museum you can see the complete history of the Elfstedentocht. There are multiple exhibits and the largest collection of ice skates in the world. For skating enthusiasts an outing that cannot be skipped! Read more about the Skating Museum here.

What to do in Workum
Expedition Oerpolder in Workum
Do you feel like cycling a bit after driving in the camper? Then Expedition Oerpolder is something for you! This is a tour with stories that goes from Workum to Brânburren. Via your smartphone you will discover different stories, sounds and images from the region along the way. The bike route is about 10 kilometers and passes 13 listening spots, where you will hear stories from residents who have experienced something there. What to do in Dokkum
Visiting churches in Dokkum
Dokkum is home to two churches. Fun to visit both after arriving in Dokkum by campervan. The Grote Kerk, also called St. Martinuskerk, and the Bonifatiuskerk. The St. Martinus Church is dedicated to St. Martin, who many people know from the lantern processions held on November 11. This church is located on the Market Square in Dokkum.
The Boniface Church is in the middle of the shopping center, close to St. Martin’s Church. In this church you can see relics of Boniface, petrified bread and a skull fragment.
Want to know more about Boniface? Then you can visit Museum Dokkum for an exhibition, at the Bonifatius Chapel and there is also a Bonifatius Monastery Trail that you can walk. So plenty about the history of Dokkum to find!
