About the Camperelfstedentocht
The Camperelfstedentocht is an initiative of 5 RV parks/campgrounds and other affiliated businesses. To continue offering this route for free, it is important to stay overnight at participating RV sites. Curious about the route and participating RV sites? Click here for more information.
Don’t forget to stamp your stamp card in each city. See the stamping post for each city here. The stamp cards themselves can be picked up for free at each stamping post. Have you collected all the stamps of the Elfstedentocht by campervan? Turn in your stamp card here!

Sneekweek
Sneekweek is Europe’s largest and most enjoyable inland water sailing event, held from August 4 to 10 in Sneek. By day, the Sneekermeer is a frenzied sailing experience, followed by fun on the island and in town.
CityProms Festival
Three days of free concerts, in the heart of Leeuwarden. Daily from 23 June 2023 to 25 June from 13.00 – 00.00. Fun for young and old! Check out the website here for more information about the festival.
Wadlopen
Wadlopen: walking on the bottom of the sea. The perfect way to cool off in the heat. Wadloopcentrum Fryslân organizes crossings to several islands, such as Ameland and Schiermonnikoog. Check here the website of Wadloopcentrum Fryslân for all mudflat walking trips.
36th Friese Ballonfeesten
From July 26 to 30 are the Friese Ballonfeesten in Joure. It is the 36th edition and one of the largest balloon events in the Netherlands. Join us as a passenger and admire the beautiful Frisian landscape, or view the beautiful colored balloons from land. Look for the full program on the website of the Frisian Balloon Festivals.

It’s almost summer! Last weeks we already enjoyed beautiful summer weather. Share your best summer photo and/or experience in 1 of the 11 cities with us via Facebook and Instagram. Don’t forget to tag us, use the #Camperelfstedentocht and follow us on the social media channels for a chance to win great prizes. Think of a Sonnema Berenburg bottle, a beer package from Kâld Kletske and tickets from various museums. The winners with the best photos will be notified personally.
Did you know.
At a number of places you also get something extra when showing your stamp card? Delicacies from Van der Meulen (at Ut Streekie in Franeker and Leeuwarden), pick and mix sandwiches at Jumbo Els Boek in Leeuwarden and a drink from Sonnema Berenburg in Bolsward at De Wijnberg.
By riding the Camperelfstedentocht you not only have a chance to win great prizes, but that the participating camper places also contribute part of the contribution to the Maarten van der Weijden Foundation?
The Camperelfstedentocht can only be ridden by camper? No motorhome but would like to go on the road? You can rent one at Averesch Campers and Goboony.

Maarten van der Weijden Foundation
The Maarten van der Weijden Foundation is inextricably linked to the Elfstedentocht after Maarten swam the tour. With the foundation, he hopes to improve the lives of cancer patients. From June 18-24, 2023, Maarten van der Weijden will take on the challenge of the Elfstedentriathlon, as Stefan Van der Pal did last year. Maarten will swim, bike and run the eleven cities in succession, with as little rest as possible. You RVers can encourage him in this! Click here for more information.
